George Edwin Hoskins

George Edwin (Eddie) Hoskins, 94, of Baytown, joined his Lord and Savior and family in heaven on May 8, 2021. He was born in Handley, TX on April 20, 1927 to Charles Houston Hoskins and Jettie Lou Gregory Hoskins. He was married to Virginia Lucille Deaver Hoskins for 63 years.

He graduated from Tech High School in Ft. Worth, TX, and then attended A&M University in College Station. Eddie worked for Celanese and Solvay/Soltex of Deer Park for 40 years. He was a member of Second Baptist Church of Baytown.

Eddie had an interest in woodworking, reworking antique fans and after retirement he and Virginia reupholstered and refinished antique furniture for friends and family. As a young man he loved to take his family skiing and camping.

Eddie was preceded in death by his wife; son, Michael Douglas Hoskins; four brothers; two sisters, and nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his daughters, Marilyn Kay Marshall and husband Lynn of Livingston, TX, Marsha Lyle and husband Wade of Cleveland, TX; grandchildren, Adam Hoskins of Baytown, Michael Pabst of Shore Acres, Layne Pabst and wife Lauren of Baytown, Morgan Pabst of Austin, Laura Read and husband Thane of Katy, Steven Harbaugh and wife Laverne of Pearland; great-grandchildren, Avery Hoskins, Ty Harbaugh, Noah Harbaugh, and Charlotte Read.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521. A graveside service will be held at 11 am, Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Cedar Crest Cemetery, 3010 Ferry Rd., Baytown, TX 77520.
