Carolyn Sulak Major, age 71, a longtime resident of Baytown, TX, passed away surrounded by her loved ones in her home overlooking Moses Lake in Texas City, TX on November 8, 2023. She was born in Wharton, TX to Willie (Bill) and Mildred Sulak on December 12, 1951.
She is predeceased by her parents and her sister Barbara Ann Sulak of Sante Fe, TX. She is survived by her twin brother Billy Wayne Sulak of Harvy, LA, her beloved husband of 50 years Mike Major of Texas City, TX, daughter Errin Major Archer and son-in-law Mike of Dallas, TX, son Travis Major and daughter-in-law Deanna, grandsons Sullivan and Jones, and granddaughter Julianna all of Seabrook, TX.
Carolyn worked at Crosby Kindergarten Center for 20 years; 9 years as a Kindergarten and ESL teacher and 11 years as the Assistant Principal.
Carolyn loved cooking, especially making gumbo for her family, bread for Jones, pancakes and noodles for Julianna, and angel food cake for Sullivan. She was an accomplished and wonderful cook.
She loved going to watch any Elvis impersonator, going to the beach, fishing, gambling, eating baseball nut ice cream, going to the movies and eating popcorn with Junior mints in it! She loved spending time with her best friends and bunko yayas. She loved her family the most and we will all remember many many good times playing cards, dominoes, and games at the kitchen table.
She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. She is finally pain free and dancing with Elvis in the heavens and doing all the things she loves while watching over her beloved family and friends.
A celebration of life visitation will be held at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr, Baytown, TX 77521, Saturday December 2, 2023, 10am – 12noon.
