William Samuel Farrar was born on April 3, 1999 and passed away on December 1, 2022, at the age of 23. William was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He attended St. Luke’s Episcopal Day School and Baton Rouge Magnet High School. William was always a good student and played many sports throughout his life. He enjoyed baseball, basketball, soccer, track and field, cross country, and wrestling. Growing up, he enjoyed going to the beach, vacations with family and friends, drawing, playing the drums, skateboarding, and playing video games, among other things. William always thought the best of people, was a good friend to others, and lived with a kind and generous heart. He was a smart, independent thinker, and had a quick wit, often making people laugh. He enjoyed lively conversation, particularly when discussing current events. He always thought critically when forming his opinion. William was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Death does not touch love. Death takes the body - the shell. Love is eternal. He leaves behind to treasure his memory his father, Kyle Farrar; his mother, Catherine Farrar; sister, Lucy Hastings; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Hastings; grandmother, Sandra Farrar; uncles, Kevin Farrar, Michael Farrar, Benjamin Farrar, and Brian Melancon; aunts Monique Melancon, Leigh Anne Farrar, and Tonya Farrar; cousins, Paige Melancon, Samuel Melancon, Jeffrey Farrar, Amanda Forte, and Peter Farrar; and girlfriend Kaitlyn. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers William Allen Farrar and Moore Samuel Plauche, Jr., and his grandmother, Sandra Plauche. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government, on Friday, December 9th, from 10:00am - 12:00pm with remembrances at noon. A private interment will be at a later date. William always loved cats, especially his sweet Louie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Cat Haven, 11130 N. Harrells Ferry Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70816. Only the good die young.
