Captain Warren Burns Gray Sr. passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2010 at the age of 89. Native of Logansport, La and resident of Pride, La he is survived by his daughter, Julianne Gray Drosendahl; three sons and daughters-in-law, Warren (Ren) B. Gray Jr. and wife Sarah, Stephen S. Gray and wife Jean, and Thomas L. Gray and his significant other Laurie Blount; four grandchildren, Darren Gray, Laurianne Gray Lipari, Jason Gray, and Meghan Gray Mansur; six great grandchildren; 15 nieces and nephews; two sisters, Melba Dahl and Jean Lay; and daughter-in-laws, Linda Gray, Jane Gray and Susan Gray. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lelia Anne Smith Gray; parents, William and Thelma (Momee) Caraway Gray; infant son, Phillip Gray; two grandsons, Warren B. Gray III (Trey), and Daniel Travis Gray; son-in-law, Robert H. Drosendahl; brother, Hudson Gray; sister, Maidland Harrell; sister-in-law, Billie Gray; brothers-in-law, Tabb Harrell and Vernon Lay; and nephew, Edward Harrell. Pallbearers will be Jason Gray, Darren Gray, Anthony Doucet, Damon Lipari, Richie Mansur, and John Gray. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Drosendahl, Mark Gray, Van Gray, Hudson (Hut 11) Gray, Paul Curs, John Hagen, and Spencer Gray. Warren was a 1st Lt Pilot in the Army Air Corp in WWII and was known as one of the best pilots. He spent 36 years as a Sr. Pilot for Pan American World Airlines. Warren was a member of Pan American Clipper Club and Indian Mound Baptist Church. He was a world traveler, a great golf player, and was competitive at everything he did in life. He was a good Father, loving husband, and he and our mother danced through life together. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Wednesday December 29, 2010 from 5 pm until 8 pm and will continue on Thursday from 9 am until religious services at 12 noon.
