Dr. Thomas Charles Plantz

Dr. Thomas Charles Plantz, a resident of Zachary passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023, at the age of 78. Dr. Plantz was born on February 20, 1944, in Cedar Falls, Iowa and grew up on Lake Kabetogama in Ray, MN. He was a 1967 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. In 1974 Dr. Plantz opened Family Chiropractic Clinic. He was a member of the (CAL) Chiropractic Association of Louisiana. He enjoyed the outdoors with his love of hunting, fishing, farming, playing golf, tennis and cribbage. Dr. Plantz is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Jane Plantz, they were married on March 6, 1965, in Galesburg, IL.; daughter, Becky Johnston Hoffpauir (Don); grandchildren, Shjon Johnston and Josephine Johnston; brother in laws, Wayne Wilming (Judy), Harold Wilming (Joyce); niece, Jennifer Wilming and many other nieces and nephews. Hunting buddies Kelly Lee and Dwayne Venable and his beloved dog, Georgie Girl and beloved cat, KiKi. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Gladys Plantz and sister Rhonda Rhoades. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, January 28, 2023, from 9:00am until funeral service time of 11:00am. Interment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be, Shjon Johnston, Donald Hoffpauir, Kelly Lee, Dwayne Venable, Joe Mallette, and Craig Johnston. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at the Fidelis House in Denham Springs for the care and support to Dr. Plantz.
