Sophie Kitt Chauvin

Sophie Kitt Chauvin, 88, was born in Scotch Plains, New Jersey on February 28, 1936. She passed away on December 19, 2024, at her home in Central. She loved cooking, shopping, collecting drummer boys & chickens and soap operas. She was the happiest when she was dancing with Gordon, playing cards, and sitting in the sun. Sophie is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Chauvin; daughter, Terry Truett Podorsky; grandson, Joshua Lemoine; 9 siblings Julie, Mary, Helen, Anna, Johnny, Georgie, Alex, Mikey, Tymko. She is survived by her children, Linda Vickers, Glen Truett (Maria), Scott Truett (Tina), and son-in-law, Mike Podorsky; grand-children, Jeremey, Emmanuel, Jonathan, Rachel (Taylor), Micah (Leigh Ann), Kitt, Carson, Clark, Katie, Christopher; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Joseph, Keaton, Laurel, Georgia and Truett (2025). Pallbearers: Jeremy, Micah, Carson, Clark, Joseph, and Taylor. The family would like to thank the loving staff of Hospice in His Care for their family caregiver support and patient compassion.

Services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Greenoaks Funeral Home-9595 Florida Blvd Baton Rouge, La 70815 with visitation from 12:00pm to service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
