Robert “Bob” William Watson, native of Mansfield, TX. And resident of Denham Springs passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the age of 96. Bob attended Texas A&M University. He is a United States Army veteran who served in WWII and was active during D-Day. He retired from CINTAS after many years of service. Bob is a charter member of Jefferson United Methodist Church. Bob enjoyed fishing and was an avid LSU baseball fan. A loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother- Bob is survived by his sons, Robert Mike Watson and wife Becky and Brain L. Watson and wife Edna; grandchildren, Karen Watson Soileau, Michelle Watson Birke, Leslee Watson Roberts, and Dianna Watson Stanga; great grandchildren, Chelsea Soileau, Ashley Soileau, Robby Birke, Ryan Birke, Mallory Roberts, Hunter Roberts, and Lucas Roberts; brothers, F.B. “Barto” Watson and J.D. Jack Watson; and sister, Mary Natalie Watson Evans. He is preceded in death by his wife, Erma Jean Watson; father, F.E. Dick Watson; and mother, Willie Mae Blissard Watson. The family would like to express their appreciation for the care and support of Our Lady of the Lake and Harvest Manor. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 6pm-9pm and will resume Friday, September 2, 2016 at 8am until funeral service at 10am conducted by Rev. Michi Head and Rev. Larry Miller. Pallbearers: Chris Soileau, Adam Birke, Layne Roberts, Josh Stang, Robby Birke, and Hunter Roberts. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Bob can be made to Jefferson United Methodist Flood Victim’s Fund.
