Robert Elmore Phillips, Jr. a native of Kentwood, La. and resident of Baton Rouge and Greensburg, La. and Osyka, Ms., passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the age of 90. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clynese 'Niecie' Tidwell Phillips; son, Robert Wayne Phillips; father and stepmother, Robert Elmore and Mary Phillips and mother and stepfather, Martha and Sam Michael; and sisters Dorothy Alleman, Jean Perry and Georgia Faye Marcello. He is survived by his son, James Ronald Phillips; daughter, Hope Phillips Moreau and husband Ken; son, David Alan Phillips; grandchildren Austin and wife Meghan and Alicia Moreau and Ronnie Phillips; and great-grandchildren Melody, Vivian and Bellina. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in both World War II and the Korean War. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Baton Rouge on Saturday, October 29, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Funeral services and burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
