Robert Ernest Cotten

Robert Ernest "Bob" Cotten, Jr., a native of Meadville, Mississippi, and resident of Natchez, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at the age of 88. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, Bob served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He worked for Ethyl Corporation and Southern Instruments before becoming a founding member of the MMR Group, Inc., in Baton Rouge, LA, from which he retired in 1986 as a Vice President. Bob is survived by his wife, Jeannie Porter Cotten; son, Robert E. Cotten, III and wife Robin; granddaughters Emily and Allie Cotten; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Aileen Temple Cotten; his stillborn son; his parents, Robert Ernest and Wilkie Mae Cotten; his brothers, Russell, Harris and Alphonse Cotten; and his sister, Janie Hutto. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2014, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. funeral service at Grace United Methodist Church, 2 Fatherland Road, Natchez, MS 39120. A graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
