Mr. Robert Chatelain passed away peacefully at his residence on October 28th, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born in New Orleans on April 14th, 1932 and a resident of Baton Rouge. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lynne Hardouin Chatelain.
“Mr. Bob” was the owner of the first Baskin- Robbins in Louisiana, located in Baton Rouge for 21 years. He was past president of the Woods & Water Club, a member of the Socialites Bowling League and managing director of the Retail Baker’s Association. He enjoyed fishing and bowling and listening to his children and grandchildren play music/sing .
He is survived by sons, Kenneth (Kitty), Jeffry (Lisa), Duane (Tracie) and daughter Bridgette; grandchildren, Brandon, Theresa, Courtney, Jordan, Taylor, Dylan Chatelain, Jessica, Caitlin, Eric, Danielle Thibodeaux and Krista Reed; a sister, Dorothy Woodruff-Graf ( Kim) and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Benedict and Constance Chatelain; brother, Richard Chatelain Sr. and son in law, Mike Mendoza.
Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Saturday, November 1st at 11:00am til service time at 2:00pm. Burial will follow immediately at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
