Richard “Chip” Houston, passed away on May 4, 2021 at the age of 65. Chip was born and raised in Baton Rouge and graduated from Broadmoor High School in 1974. Through mutual friends, he met his wife of 40 years, Karen, and they were married at Our Lady of Mercy Church in 1980. Together they raised two daughters and were the proud owners of Chip’s Pest Control for 35 years.
Chip was a natural golf talent with a deep love of the game. Friends and family were in awe of his natural ability to swing the golf club and his low handicap. If not on a golf course, you could find him in the kitchen cooking a seafood gumbo or rooting for his LSU Tigers. He was well liked by everyone and never met a stranger. A truly genuine person, he cared for people from all walks of life.
Chip and Karen loved spending their empty nest years as proud residents of Jarreau, LA and enjoyed living life on False River.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Imhoff Houston; daughters, Jayme Adams, and Becca Feeney and husband John; grandchildren, Brooks, Reese, and Ada; and his brothers, Lance (Melissa) and Todd Houston. He is also survived by his father-in-law Richard Clarence Imhoff, mother-in-law Mary Jeanne Linden Imhoff, brothers-in-law Rick (Susan), Randy (Karen), Phillip, Tony (Jamie), and Eric (Terri), and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence “Budge” and Catherine Jeanne Babin Houston; and his brother, Greg Houston.
