Ramona was born on December 18, 1936 in Baton Rouge to Dr. and Mrs. John H. McCaa, Sr. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart and St. Joseph’s Academy. She attended USL and worked as a business manager in private industry and for her husband’s business for many years.
Ramona enjoyed all sports and always supported her Tigers. She was a constant at her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. She loved to celebrate and host family birthday parties, holidays and special occasions. Ramona was a devout Catholic who prayed the Rosary daily and enjoyed her coffee time on the back porch as she said her prayers. The annual family beach trip was her favorite event to plan and attend. She was known amongst her family for her many quotes and sayings.
Ramona is survived by her four children, Pamela (Randall) Adams, Cheryl (Andy) Hicks, Mark (Nancy) Hartman and Gerri Lynn Hartman; six grandchildren, Shauntel (Alan) Puckett, Brittany (Lenny) Gonzalez, Brooke (Jeremy) Ellis, Matthew Hartman, Blake Hartman, and Jordin Woodward; seven great grandchildren, Reed, Cruz, Cole, Caroline, Hudson, Wesson and Beaux.
Ramona is now reunited with her beloved husband Gerald “Jerry” Ray Hartman. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, John H. McCaa, Jr., Rowena McCaa Cullen and Winona McCaa McGaugh.
The family would like to thank Dr. Gerald Barber, Hospice of Baton Rouge, and all the individuals who helped with her care, especially Gerri Lynn Hartman.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11:00am with the funeral mass to follow at 12:30pm. Burial service will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
