Paul Marvin Smith

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Paul Smith passed away on October 21, 2024 after a battle with sarcoma. He is survived by his wife, Bonita Smith, his children, Sheralyn Long (Richard) and Jason Smith (Sarah). And his beautiful grandchildren: Nasby, Jude, Ruby Long and Owen Charles Smith. And his mother, Pauline Smith of Whitehall, MI and 5 sisters and brothers and a host of nieces and nephews. And extended Bargo Family in Barbouville, KY. He was retired from US Army and Department of the Army after serving 39 years and his efforts were always to ensure the Soldier was well equipped to enter into combat. He was a member of Boyd Ewing Post 58 American Legion and also an active member of the Baton Rouge Amateur Radio Club, and Ascension Radio Club. Memorial Service will be held on November 7, 2024 at 2PM at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St. A private interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to Patrick F. Taylor Hope Lodge, American Cancer Society, 2609 River Road, New Orleans, LA. 70121. Rabenhorst Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
