Micah Murphree

Micah David Murphree, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on May 5, 2024, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 40. Micah was born on July 27, 1983, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Randy and Deborah Murphree.

Micah had a charismatic personality and was a good friend to many. He had a great sense of humor, always finding joy in making others laugh. Micah was a devoted seeker of God and had a deep passion for understanding the Word of God. His unwavering faith in Jesus Christ was evident in all aspects of his life. One of his favorite scriptures was Philippians 1:6, "And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." (ESV Version)

Micah is survived by his parents, Randy and Deborah Murphree, and his sisters Amanda and Sharon Murphree. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bernie and Marjorie Murphree, and Edward and Marjorie Johnson.

The funeral service will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, May 9, 2024. Family visiting hours will be from 11:00 am to 11:30 am, followed by a wake and open viewing for friends from 11:30 pm to 1 pm. Interment will commence at 1 pm, with a reception to follow at Greenoaks after the service.

Micah will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit and faith will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace.
