Leo Murphy Beauregard was born on September 25, 1943 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He met Brenda, his wife of 56 years, while attending St. Francis Xavier High School. After graduation, Murphy attended Southern University.
Murphy served in the Armed Forces during the Vietnam War and was Honorably Discharged from the Army in 1965.
In October of 1967, he and Brenda married. They were blessed with one daughter, Stephanie.
Murphy was a former parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He was re-affiliated with his former parish, St. Agnes Catholic Church, where he was a faithful parishioner for many years.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a supervisor at BASF until he retired in 2005. He and Brenda enjoyed spending their retirement with their family. They spent many summers traveling to attend their grandsons’ many basketball tournaments and other sporting events.
Murphy was preceded in death by his parents, Solomon T. Beauregard Jr. and Leah P. Beauregard. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Domingue Beauregard; his daughter, Stephanie Beauregard Jones, her husband, Dr. Harlan P. Jones, and his two grandsons, “his boys”, Matthew Beauregard Jones and Michael Beauregard Jones; his older brother, Ronald N. Beauregard and his wife, Catherine F. Beauregard, and their children, Patrick and his wife Sonia, and Gretchen and her husband, Robert; his younger brother, Charles Cornell Beauregard and his wife, Elaine R. Beauregard, and their children, Karen V. Dural and her husband, Junius E. Dural, and Nicole B. Johnson and her husband, Michael Johnson; his brothers-in law, Cecil Domingue and his wife Lydia, Joseph Domingue and his wife Cecilia; his sisters-in-law Linda LeDuff and Donna Domingue, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 749 East Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the Rosary and Catholic burial Mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church.
