Lawrence Joseph “Buddy” Arbour, lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the age of 91. Buddy was born on December 28, 1923 to Claude Vincent and Mary Agnes Boudreaux Arbour. He graduated from Istrouma High School in 1941 and proudly served in the US Coast Guard during WWII in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1945. Buddy was a devoted husband, and a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Laura Stephens Arbour; parents, Claude and Agnes; and siblings, Roy, James, Loraine, and Vera. Buddy is survived by his son, Michael Wayne Arbour and his wife Sue; daughter, Pamela Ann Arbour Smith and her husband Greg; grandchildren, Patrick Arbour, Michelle Hewes, and Gregory Smith, Jr.; great grandchildren, Preston Hewes, Addison Arbour, Hannah Smith, and Hallie Smith; sister, Betty; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to loving caregivers, Eve Hart, April Mann, Katie Ortiz-Perez, Tina Strickland, and Hospice of Baton Rouge. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 12:00 pm until the Funeral Service begins at 2:00 pm. Graveside service and military honors will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
