Kelli Waddelow Stout

Kelli Waddelow Stout passed peacefully from life into eternity on Friday morning, November 22, 2024. She was only 65 years old, plagued by the adult-long ravages of Cancer survival treatments. Kelli was born in Ponca City, OK, on August 26, 1959, the second child of Raymond and Janette Waddelow, and on the second birthday of her brother, Marc. In her childhood, she lived a few years in the San Francisco area, before the family settled in Baton Rouge where she grew up in local schools. She attended and graduated from LSU with a degree in interior design. In April 1986, she married Carey Stout, another Baton Rouge native, moving to Jackson, MS, soon afterwards. She began her design career at a larger local architectural firm. She then followed her second career in the culinary field after attending Atlanta’s Culinary Business Academy. She was a personal chef, then taught cooking classes in several affiliated businesses in Jackson. Her classes emphasized her skills learned from many years growing up in Baton Rouge preparing, cooking, and enjoying Cajun and Creole cuisines. Throughout all of her endeavors, she and Carey were in a very loving and supportive 38-year marriage, rising above the hard times and celebrating the good times. Kelli is survived by her husband, Carey of the house; and her mother, Janette Waddelow, of Birmingham, AL. She is preceded in death by her brother, Marc; and her father, Raymond Waddelow. We shall remember her love for her Dalmatian dogs, her sweet smile, and manners. Godspeed, dear heart! Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 11am until the funeral service at 12pm. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kelli’s name to the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
