Kathy A. Kuhlmann was received into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on Friday, April 25, 2014 at the age of 59 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a resident of Baton Rouge, receiving bachelor and master degrees from LSU. She was an exceptional teacher and administrator, having taught in East and West Baton Rouge Parishes and the state of Texas. She was currently an assistant principal at Woodlawn Middle School and formerly at Southeast Middle School. She was a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. She is survived by her aunts, Beulah Simpson, Catherine Bergeron, and Geraldine Schneider, of Port Allen and their families. She is also survived by her “adopted” mom, Maxine Gonzales and husband Freddy of Laurel, MS, a close friend and confidant, “Libby” Boihem, of New Orleans, as well as many friends, co-workers, and students whose lives she touched. She is preceded in death by her father, O.W. Kuhlmann, Jr., mother, Gloria Carlisle, brother, Kenny Kuhlmann and aunt, Lois Favron. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 12:30 p.m. until funeral service, conducted by Reverend Frank Uter, at 2:30 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Special thanks to her caregivers Dee, Lynn, Shayna and Ann Dolan for their loving touch these last weeks. Kathy, we will always cherish our precious memories.
