Joyce Marie Brouillette Roy, age 77, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 6:30 pm in Baton Rouge, LA. She was surrounded by her loving family who cherished her and will miss her dearly. She is survived by her devoted husband and best friend, Earl James Roy, along with their three children, her sister, brother, and her grandchildren. Kelly E. Roy is their eldest and only daughter who lives in London, England. Jeffrey A. Roy is the eldest of their two sons and lives with his wife Odette (Detsie) Collett Roy in Lafayette, LA. They have two sons, Jeffrey A. Roy, Jr. and Thomas C. Roy. Brooks A. Roy is the youngest of their sons and lives with his wife Marihelen E. Roy in Baton Rouge, LA. Leona Brouillette Many, her sister, lives with her husband Tim Many in Baton Rouge, LA. Glenn Brouillette, her brother, lives with his wife Barbara Cortez Brouillette in Baton Rouge, LA. Nicole Brouillette Rozas, her niece, and Blair P. Many, her nephew, live in Baton Rouge, LA. Valerie Many LeBlanc, her niece, lives in Austin, TX. Her two great nieces are Abby Rozas and Evangeline LeBlanc. She is preceded in her death by her parents Louis J. Brouillette of Marksville, LA and Eunice Normand Brouillette of Bordelonville, LA. Joyce was born in Marksville, LA on August 3, 1938 to Louis and Eunice Brouillette and was the eldest of three siblings. Her paternal grandparents were Aldege Brouillette and Flora Bordelon Brouillette both of Marksville, LA. Her maternal grandparents were Lamar Normand and Florence Pastor Normand both of Bordelonville, LA. Joyce graduated from Marksville High School in 1956 where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband Earl. She graduated from Business School in 1957. She worked as a bank teller at Rapides Bank in Alexandria, LA and later at City National Bank in Baton Rouge, LA. She was always very active in her church parishes in Lafayette, Baton Rouge, and Pecan Island. Joyce loved to watch the hummingbirds every spring at the bird feeders and laughed at the squirrels playing in the oak trees. She enjoyed sitting on her patio with her husband reminiscing about their life together and their 57 years of marriage. One of her passions was genealogy. She spent several years researching the family tree and contacting relatives to share the information. The funeral services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. George Catholic Church at 7808 St George Dr., Baton Rouge, LA 70809. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Jude Catholic Church Building Fund. Rabenhorst Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
