Joyce Thompson Daigle

Joyce Thompson Daigle, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at age 89 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on September 17, 1927 in Abbeville, LA to her parents Ida Fruge Thompson and Frank Thompson. She is a graduate of Kaplan High School and Southwestern Louisiana Institute (ULL). She retired from Louisiana State Police Headquarters after 22 years of service as Director of Personnel. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Ralph J. Daigle; children, Keith Daigle (Cathy), Cathy Talley (Mike), Lisa Mitchell (Charles), and Tim Daigle (Laura); 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Lawrence (Bea) Thompson and Everett Thompson (Norma). She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70815, on Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 11 a.m. until Funeral Service at 12 p.m. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park.
