John Patrick Ducote, Sr.

John Patrick Ducote, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at the age of 73, at his residence surrounded by those who loved him. He succumbed to health problems that slowly took away his meaningful life. He was born in Moreauville, LA, to the late Walter and Lena Ducote, on May 26, 1949.

John came from humble beginnings, then became an AC Serviceman, which led to starting a well-known supplier to restaurants. He was the President of Ducote’s Restaurant Equipment which he worked at until right before he passed alongside, his two sons. He loved hunting, fishing, and cooking for his family, employees and friends. John is survived by the love of his life for 53 years, Paula Brantley Ducote, they were inseparable; children, John Ducote, Jr, and wife, Kelly, Cherie Renfroe and husband, Dwayne, and Joe Ducote and wife, Kristy; grandchildren, Dawson, Cade, Claire, Camille and Xander; and sisters, Juanita and Geraldine. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Andrew and Owen; and sister, Theresa. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 10:30am until the time of memorial services at 2:00pm. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Hospice in His Care, especially Stephanie Taylor, Yukie, Lily and Rev. Baskin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Hospice in His Care.
