He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Henrietta Harvey.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ginger Harvey; children, Becky Posey, Alison Gifford (John), Abram Harvey (Lacy), and Ashley Harvey; grandchildren, Claudia and Maddie Beth Posey; Meg, Henri Kate, and Sam Gifford; and James Abram and Emmett Harvey; brothers, Bob Harvey (Anita), and David Harvey (Joy); sisters, June Ford (Toby), Susan Wymore (Terry), and Mary Bateman (Dewitt); brother-in-law, Larry Johnson (Deanne); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jimmy and his wife owned and operated Feliciana Pharmacy in St. Francisville for over 40 years. They made their home and life in St. Francisville and were active members in the community, always willing to help others. He was a former town alderman and on the Board of Directors of Bank St. Francisville. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 12404 LA-10 St. Francisville, LA 70775. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with a graveside to follow at Star Hill Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Sam Gifford, Dan Johnson, Jason Harvey, John Christian Harvey, Bo Thornhill, Ian Wymore, Jon Bateman, and Christian Blough. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Willie B. Fairchild, Jerry Harper, Pal Lambert, Donnie Adams, Carter Leak III, Larry Johnson, and Ronnie Broussard.
