James “Gerald” Bueche, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015. Gerald was born March 20, 1941, in New Roads, Louisiana, to parents Toby and Ada Bueche. He was an active member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. Gerald was a hard-worker and owner of Gulf Sweeping Service for over 40 years. He was a generous and compassionate man, one of great faith and humor. Gerald’s most favorite moments in life were those shared with his family and friends. His “life of the party” personality is his one attribute out of many that will be missed most by all. His hobbies included a love for antique cars and cooking for his family and friends at his camp on False River. While he was a man filled with wit, he was also a loving husband, father, Paw-Paw, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Anita Oubre Bueche; his children: daughter Angela (Jeff) McGraw and their two children, son Austin (Amanda) and daughter, Logan; daughter Julie Dugas and her children, Bryce and Brynne; son Brian and his children, Ian and Gabrielle; and son Brent and his children, Britton and Adelynn. Gerald had one sister, Janet Carroll (Elmer) and their children, Ashley and Brad; and one brother-in-law, AJ Oubre and his wife JoAn. He is preceded in death by his parents, Toby and Ada Bueche. Pallbearers will be Brent and Brian Bueche, Jeff and Austin McGraw, Bryce Dugas, David Rodrigue and Richie LeJeune. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Guidroz, Ronald Rodrigue and Chuck Entremont. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, Louisiana, March 4th, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume March 5th, 2015 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Father Mike Maroney. Interment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
