A resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Morganza, she passed away Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at Promise Specialty Hospital. She was 93. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, Oct. 10, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home Monday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. until service time at noon. Interment to follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Ivy is survived by a daughter, Beverly Coco; sister, Helen McKenzie; special granddaughter, Tonya Burton; three granddaughters, Tina Trahan, Crystal Vikowski and Tracye Yochim; grandson, Lane Guidry; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Elmo I. Coates; mother, Mattie Catlett Coates; husband, Guy J. Blanchard; son, Harold Wayne Blanchard; four sisters, Mamie Morgan, Aline York, Neva Delee and Mary Walters; and brother, Edward Coates. Pallbearers will be Vince Trahan, Lane Guidry, Bill Yochim, Eric Burton, Chris Burton and Warren Winstead. Ivy was a longtime member of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church.
