A devoted husband, loving & proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather and good friend to many. Hymel A. “Buddy” Doming, Jr., age 81, resident of Greenwell Springs, departed this world and entered his eternal heavenly home, Saturday, August 28, 2021 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas. Buddy was a devout Catholic at St. Alphonsus, a former parishioner of St. Pius X, enjoyed volunteering at the St. Isidore Food Bank, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a retired Electrical Engineer from Albemarle and owner of Dickie’s Sportsman’s Center. He is survived by his loving wife & soul mate of 57 years, Peggy Cline Doming; daughters, Mary Tammy Smith (Carey), Penny Fruge (Poonie), and son, Terry Doming (Sylvia); sister, Barbara Dixon; sister-in-law, Lorraine Doming; 7 grandchildren, Carey "Sammy" Smith V, Macey Smith, Shae Gaspard (Logan), Christopher Doming, Corey Doming, Caden Doming, and Codey Doming; and three great-grandchildren, Oliver Kennedy, Monk Gaspard, and James Gaspard. Preceded in death by parents Hymel A. Doming Sr. and Neila Hebert Doming; and brothers, Charles and Ronnie Doming; and baby brother. Pallbearers will be Christopher Doming, Corey Doming, Carey Smith IV, Oneil Fabre, John Gebhart, and Sean Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Caden Doming and Codey Doming. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be held at St. Alphonsus on Sept. 11, 2021 9:30-11:00 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Please wear a mask when entering the church. Burial will be at Greenoaks in Baton Rouge, with a reception to follow the graveside service.
