Gary Worden LeBlanc, a resident of Denham Springs, Louisiana, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015. Gary was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on August 8, 1957. He served as a Louisiana State Trooper for 28 years before retiring from the department. He was a Lieutenant for the Hazardous Material/Explosives Emergency Services Unit. Gary will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son and friend. He had a love of spending time with his family and friends, serving our community, LSU sports and hunting. Gary was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus and Lifeteen. He is survived by his of wife of 27 years, Janet Simon LeBlanc; son, Adam and daughter, Amy; a brother, John Kent LeBlanc and wife Tina; two sisters, Jill LeBlanc Langlinais and husband Kent and Deane LeBlanc Broussard and husband Mark. He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Doris LeBlanc. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, Friday, September 4, 2015 from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Saturday September 5, 2015 from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment will immediately follow at Seale Evergreen Cemetery in Denham Springs, Louisiana. The LeBlanc family would like to thank their family and friends for their acts of kindness, love and care during Gary’s illness. A special thank you to the ladies of La Maison and his hospice nurse. You will never know what that has meant to our family. Pallbearers will be: Adam LeBlanc, Russell Fontenot (Ret. LSP), David Desormeaux (Ret. LSP), Adam White (LSP Lt. Colonel), Chris Viator (Ret. LSP), Lee Lewis (LSP D. C. T.), Travis Day (LSP T. S.), Jason Poe (Ret. LSP). In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations to be made to Alzheimer’s research organization of your choice.
