A retired paramedic supervisor with the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 12:32 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2007, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. She was 50 and a native of Hastings, Neb. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, May 9, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation in the funeral home chapel on Thursday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by Arthur Lewis. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Park, Denham Springs. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, William A. Mills of Baton Rouge; mother, Evalin "Connie" Doucet of Denham Springs; daughter, Jennifer D. Cooley of Baton Rouge; son and daughter-in-law, Jason B. and Deborah Cooley of Biloxi, Miss.; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Earl S. Rish of Denham Springs; three brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Claire Doucet of Summerville, S.C., and John Scott and Vickie Doucet and Joseph and Jeannie Doucet, all of Biloxi; and maternal grandmother, Evalin M. Kleinjan of Hastings. She was preceded in death by her father, James C. Doucet; maternal grandfather, Clarence Kleinjan; and paternal grandparents, Peter and Ruth Doucet. She was a member of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the American Cancer Society.
