Dorothy Newton Futch, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the age of 92. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She received a Master of Education Degree from LSU; member of Phi Beta Phi and Delta Beta Phi. She was a retired English teacher. Prior to losing her sight to macular degeneration, she was passionate about reading. Enjoyed traveling, beach combing, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a charter member of Broadmoor Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday school for many years. Belonged to Denham Springs Campers Club. She resided at Remington Park in Baytown, Tx for the past 3 years to be closer to her daughter. She was a true blessing to her family and friends with strong Christian values.She inspired everyone to love unconditionally and live life to the fullest. We will miss her dearly but know we will see her again. She is survived by her 4 children, Jan Maxwell Futch, Jr; Thomas James Futch II (Nonie); Diane Futch Creel (Kyle); David Newton Futch, Sr.; Grandchildren: Kristi Darbonne (Chris); Donald Holland, Jr. (Joy); Jason Holland (Christina); Thomas Futch III; Jonathan Futch (Sarah); Anna Sorbet (Shawn); Michael Futch (London); Jennifer Futch Smith; Laura Futch;David Futch, Jr.; Tanna and Nicole Futch; and Great-Grandchildren: Ashlee, Courtney,Chase, Kaden, Donny Ray, Zuriel, Elizabeth, Sybil, Ezra, Jonah, Emi, Sarah, Gabriel, & Annabel. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 ½ years, Jan Maxwell Futch Sr.; and parents, Lester & Annie Laurie Newton. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 4PM-7PM and will resume at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, 9340 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815, on Thursday, March, 12, 2015 at 10AM with funeral service at 11AM.
