I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 Pastor David Michael Diamond, Sr., on August 31, 2022, left his earthly home and transitioned to his heavenly home, at the age of 71. Pastor David Diamond was born on February 6, 1951, to George Eugene Diamond and Mamie Lee Barefield. He graduated in 1969, from Ouachita High School in Monroe, LA. Shortly thereafter, he met and married “the love of his life”, Diane Kirksey, on January 15, 1971. Later that same year, he accepted Christ and answered the call of God to preach the gospel. He was not your ordinary pastor; he was on fire for the Lord and wanted others to share in that enthusiasm. During his years of ministry, he traveled the world preaching the gospel from the United States to Canada, South America, Africa and Russia. He was affectionately known to many as the “Wild Man”, a modern day John the Baptist. He never missed the opportunity to share Jesus Christ with others. He had a zeal for God that would light up a room. Pastor David Diamond was a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, leader, advocate, hero and friend. He opened the doors of his home to many over the years. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. No matter the time of day, he was always ready and willing to help those in need. His favorite statement was, “KEEP SHOUTIN’ AND YOUR WALLS WILL COME DOWN!” Pastor David Diamond is survived by his wife of 51 years, Diane Diamond; sons, David Michael Diamond, Jr. (Penny), Nicholas E. Diamond (Nicole), Brian Yost Diamond and Jeremy Yost Diamond; daughters, Heather Diamond Mora (Daniel) and Melissa Yost Diamond Ary (Chris); grandchildren, Kayleigh, Shelby, Jonah, Madison, Carmen, Zach, Ethan, Weston, Ava, Austin, Jackson, Dillion, Seth, Selena, Brianna, Jacob, Jackson, Aiden; great-grandchild, Lyanna; brother, Steve Diamond; sisters-in-law, Brenda, Judy, Grace and Sharon; brothers-in-law, Bill, Don, and L.J.; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Pastor David Diamond is preceded in death by his daughter, Buffie C. Diamond; parents, George E. Diamond and Mamie Diamond Tumlison; step-father, James “Son” Tumlison; brothers, Pat Diamond and Bobby Diamond; father-in-law and mother in-law, Billy and Alma Kirksey and aunts and uncles. Visitation will be at Bethany Church, 28115 Juban Rd., Denham Springs, LA, on Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 9:30am until the time of funeral services at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA.
