Darren James Dufour was born on February 23, 1961 to the late Malcolm J. and Sadie H. Dufour. He passed away on September 28, 2024. Darren was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge having graduated from Belaire High School. He subsequently spent his working career in the sales industry. He was a diehard fan of the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints and enjoyed playing golf and fantasy football in his spare time. Using his keen sense of humor and great dry wit, he was able to keep family and friends laughing and entertained on any occasion. Darren’s faith and love of the Lord was unwavering and was always a priority in his life as was his love and dedication to his family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, never saying no to a family member in need. He is survived by his sisters, Debbie Leonard (Willie), Donna L. Dufour, and Denise Wall; nephew, Corey Arnold (Monika); niece, Ashley Arnold; and great nephew, Camden Arnold. Darren’s three sisters will be eternally grateful to the staff at River Oaks Nursing Center, namely his caretaker, Sparkle, with whom he had an instant connection. We would also like to express our gratitude to Hospice in His Care, namely Yvonne, Kristen, and Pastor Tommy Cain. God called our brother home at a young age; however, the mark he made on the lives of his family will be forever cherished. A visitation for Darren will be held on Friday, October 4th at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East (11000 Florida Blvd) at 10:00 am until the memorial service at noon.
