Dana James-Agnew passed away peacefully October 9th, 2022, in Baton Rouge, LA after suffering for many years with Alzheimer’s. She was born January 1st, 1952, to Helen Wellborn James and Claude James in Memphis, TN. A talented interior decorator, she owned James-Agnew Interiors from 1997 until she retired in 2007. She was an accomplished watercolor artist who enjoyed gifting her paintings to others. As an avid golfer, she served as President of the CCLA LGA multiple times. She loved to travel, spend time with her grandchildren and volunteer. She was a beautiful soul that will be dearly missed. Dana is survived by her husband of 25 years, Samuel L. Agnew of Baton Rouge, LA; two daughters: Heather Womble Allerheiligen of Denham Springs, LA and Ashley Womble (Heston) Hodges of Baton Rouge, LA; and three grandchildren: Emma Allerheiligen, Holt Hodges, and Wolf Hodges. Dana is also survived by three stepsons: Ben Agnew of Prairieville, LA, Bryson {Jodi) Agnew of Baton Rouge, LA and Drayton Agnew of Baton Rouge, LA; and five step granddaughters: Sophia, Chloe, Emery, Elise and Ella Agnew. She is also survived by her older brother, Roger James of Olive Branch, MS, and her older sister, Debora Duckworth of Little Rock, AR. She is preceded in death by her parents. A service to honor Dana’s life and memory is being planned and details will be announced when complete.
