“Call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.” (Jer. 33:3) Christie Lee Trotter Williams, a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the age of 37 after a courageous battle with cancer. Christie was a talented artist, singer, teacher, and athlete. She was an honor graduate of both Brusly High School and LSU. She taught talented arts in Ascension Parish, EBR, WBR, and out of state. A devoted Christian, she was a member of Bethany Church, where she touched many lives. Christie is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Duke Williams; daughters, Sasha and Malia; parents, Jane McDaniel and her husband, Charles, and Bill Trotter and his wife, Lorry; siblings, Dana Robertson and her husband, Rickie, Timothy Lee and his wife, Kimberly; mother-in-law, Deborah Williams; grandmothers, Emma Stewart and Katie Trotter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her brother, John “JJ” Trotter; brother-in-law, Joshua Williams; grandfathers, Polie Stewart and Gene Trotter. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue at Bethany Church South Campus, Siegen and I-10, on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 9 a.m. until Funeral Service 10 a.m. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Baton Rouge General Arts in Medicine Program on behalf of Christie Williams.
