Charles Revel Porter, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in Houston, TX. He was born July 20, 1933, in St. Tammany Parish, LA, to the late Emanuel and Cecile Maye Porter. Porter was an Executive with Exxon Production and Research Company, retiring in 1992. He was member of South Main Baptist Church and served for many years as a deacon. Blessed with a lyric tenor voice, he was a valued member of church choir. Being devoted to and active in the church life, and spending time with his family were the main highlights of his long lived life. Porter is survived by his spouse of 60 years, Carole Tullier Porter; sons; Revel Dean Porter and Charles Mark Porter; daughter; Linda Carole Pouzar; grandchildren; Donald Porter, Marie Morrison, Annette Smalley, Carissa Walker, Renee Vore, Jessie Budd, Sadie Shamoon, Carole Overturf, and Kimberly Pouzar; and 13 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother; Sidney Louis Porter; and sisters, Ellen Dunaway, Mary Ann Allman, and Betty Couch. There will be a graveside service at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 2pm.
