Charlie passed away Saturday, August 31st at his home surrounded by his family. He was a native and resident of Baton Rouge for 81 years and in the family insurance business of McInnis, Tyner Inc., for 55 years. Charlie loved fishing, hunting, cooking, gardening and just talking to everyone. He loved Jesus and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He served his country in the U.S. Air force and his community by serving on several civic boards. He was a big Tiger football fan and a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity while at LSU. Charlie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who took care of and helped us all. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of 60 years, a son Charles Jr. and his wife Donna, two daughters Lynne McInnis Mundell and her husband Jeff, Lauren McInnis Becnel and her husband Terry; eight grandchildren, Jacob McInnis and his wife Carrie, Candace Becnel Bonnoitt and her husband David, Timothy, Rebecca, Victoria and Joshua Becnel, Brittany and Kelli Mundell; one great-grandson Mitchell Charles McInnis; one sister Marjorie McInnis Noble; one sister-in-law Phyllis Crawford and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Frank F. McInnis Sr. and his mother Lois K. McInnis, his brother Frank F. McInnis Jr. and his wife Joy S. McInnis, a niece Lois Lynn Sanford; mother and father-in-law Henry and Robbie Cowart; two brother-in-laws Robert Crawford and Harold Cowart. His pallbearers will be, Jacob McInnis, Timothy Becnel, Joshua Becnel, and David Bonnoitt. Honorary pallbearers will be David Ellison, Robert Wiemer, Dr. Warren "Si" Woodward, Jeff Mundell and Terry Becnel. Visitation will be at First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, September 3rd from 9:00am until the service at 11:00am. Burial will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park following the service. A special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice and to all of his family and friends for their love, prayers and support during his illness. We will miss you Charlie and "don't forget to call home"- Love you.
