Catherine Louise Floyd Morgan passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital on March 10, 2014 at 9:20pm. She was a native of Dumas, Arkansas and has been a resident of Baton Rouge, LA for more than 50 years. She was born Jan 10, 1926 to the union of J.T. Floyd and Laura Floyd. During WWII she was employed at an ammunition plant in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She later was employed in Baton Rouge for 17 years at Copolymer Rubber and Chemical Corp. She was very active in the Salvation Army in which she served a year as president, Baton Rouge Art League, and Baton Rouge Hearing Foundation. She was very talented in art, loved to dance, the beach, fishing, camping, traveling, and entertaining friends. She is survived by one son, Floyd Davis “Dave” Morgan and wife Patti Mason Morgan; and four grandchildren, (twins) Natalie Pearl and Mason Morgan, Mike Morgan and wife Karen, and Lisa Morgan Noteboon and husband David; one great grandchild Morgan Noteboon, all of Colorado except Mike who lives in Lancaster, CA. Also surviving is her friend from her childhood days, Joe Hudson, of Leavenworth, Kansas; and his two daughters and their spouses, Lynn Allen and husband Chris of Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey, and Liz Egger and her husband Brad of Lansing, Kansas; 3 nieces Carolyn, Mary Carol and May of Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, W.G. “Sonny” Morgan; her parents, J.T. and Laura Floyd; and five sisters, Orene Murphy, Mary McCurdy, Susie Mae McPherson, Johnnie Duncan, and infant sister, Eula Marie Floyd. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 10 am until funeral service at 2pm. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: J.R. Dubler, LaWayne Dupree, Bobby Cunnard, Mike Morgan, Mason Morgan, and Donald McClendon. Honorary Pallbearers are Floyd Davis “Dave”Morgan and David Noteboon. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Salvation Army in Catherine’s memory.
