2022. She was 79 years old. Carolyn was born and raised in Baton Rouge; she graduated from St. Joseph's Academy and earned her bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University. After living in Baton Rouge for 24 years she moved to Florida for a time. When she returned to Baton Rouge where she worked for the St. Elizabeth Foundation and was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She also served on the Board of Directors for Friends of the Museum and was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral parish.
Carolyn enjoyed reading, taking long walks, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her acts of service and adventurous spirit. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Robert "Buddy" Morris; son Robert Morris (Ashley); daughter Coleen Van De Car (David); son Matthew Morris; son John Peter Morris (Sally); son-in-law Don Dockum; grandchildren Jacob, Katherine, and Jackson Van De Car, siblings Shirley Roubique (Don), Mike Kleinpeter (Rita), Bill Kleinpeter (Angel), and Kaye Brignac (Gary). She is preceded in death by her daughter Angela Dockum, her sister Barbara Chenevert, her parents John C. "Pete" and Hazel Kleinpeter, and her father and mother-in-law Bob and Virginia Morris. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 20 at 9 am at St. Joseph Cathedral followed by a funeral mass at 10 am. A reception will be held following the mass.
In lieu of flowers, Carolyn has requested that donations be made to the St. Elizabeth Foundation, St. Joseph's Academy, or your local food bank.
