Beverly M. Wright

Beverly M. WrightA resident and native of St. Gabriel, she passed away on Thursday, March 12 at the age of 86.  She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and was a member of the St. Gabriel Lady's Altar Society.  Beverly was a former president of the Louisiana Cattlewomen's Association, The Spur Club, the National Cattlewomen's Association, and she also held numerous other offices during her lifetime.Beverly was preceded in death by her husband A.G. Wright, Jr.; parents Joseph A. "Bob" and Cora B. Melancon; sister Evelyn "Sis" Vortisch; and great-grandchild Christina Dixon.Beverly is survived by her children Rita Sanchez (Victor), Greg Wright, Mary Ray (Phil), Morris Wright (Annette), and Charles "Andy" Wright (Lisa); grandchildren Michael Sanchez (April), Kevin Sanchez (Dawn), Tabitha Lathan (Brian), Melissa Sanchez (Narce), Paul White, Alex White (Bambi), C.W. Wright, Kassie Wright, and Kallie Wright; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 expected great-grandchild.Visitation will be on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, (3625 Highway 75, St. Gabriel, LA 70776) from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 PM.  Visitation will continue on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 9:00 AM. at the church until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM officiated by Fr.Charles Landry, Fr. John Koehler, Deacon Thomas Labat, and Deacon Claude Bourgeois, Jr. The graveside service will follow in the St. Gabriel Catholic Church Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Michael Sanchez, Kevin Sanchez, Alex White, Morris "C.W." Wright, Jr., Andrew Sanchez, Tyler Courtney, Austin Sanchez, and Maurice Broussard.  The Honorary Pallbearer will be her beloved godchild Roy Vortisch.Beverly resided at Old Jefferson Community Care Center, and the family would like to thank all of the nurses, CNAs and physical therapists that loved and treated our mother so well during the last four years.Memorial donations can be made in Beverly's name to St. Gabriel Catholic Church (3625 Highway 75, Saint Gabriel, LA 70776), Louisiana ASPCA (1700 Mardi Gras Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70114), or the charity of your choice.Words of comfort to the family atwww.rabenhorst.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.rabenhorst.com">www.rabenhorst.com.
