Coach Bernard was like a grandfather to me, as Mrs. Pat was like a grandmother. He was such a genuinely good and loving person.  I felt like an adopted grandson, and will always have such fond memories of him, whether thinking about eating his top class jambalaya or remembering his instructions on how to position myself about the soccer ball to defend off opponents. He was so much more than just a coach. He poured his heart into us, and I'm a better person from having learned from him....such a wonderful role model. May our Lord God bless him and may he be with our Lord forever! I'll miss you until we're reunited.

I came to know Bernard through my longtime friendship with his daughter, Monica. From the first time I met this dear man I was enamored by his kindness, charm, humor, vitality and ability to love abundantly. Once you were invited to his home, and were fortunate enough to share in one of his mouthwatering meals, you were forever welcomed back. He was such a generous and kind soul and he will he sorely missed by all whose lives were touched by him.  Rest in peace Mr. Bernard.

What a great and loving person Bernard was. His love of family was clearly visible. His love of life was at his peak  (eg. Skiing at his age. Wow). Through difficult family times his unwavering love and support was there.  He was just the best Paw Paw our Grandson (Great Grandson to Bernard) Rafi could ever have.  Now we say goodbye to Bernard, a great and wonderful person. His legacy will always stay within our hearts.

Bernard and I were friends since childhood, and that friendship has continued to this day! I will miss him greatly! I wish the best for his wife, Lou, and his two daughters: Belinda and Monica! Truly a life long friend! My sincere condolences!

I’ve know Bernard since 1973 before we worked together at BRPP.  We shared memories at and away from work.  He will be missed by many.  My prayers go to his family and friends.

Although life only brought us together for a little over a decade, Bernard has touched our hearts forever. The warmth and kindness he has shown our family will never be forgotten. So heartbroken over the loss of this great man, and so honored and grateful to have been given the opportunity to know him.  In our minds Bernard will always be standing behind that huge pot, stirring up the best darn Jambalaya we’ve ever had, accompanied by a side of his endearing charm. Our sincere condolences to his family during this difficult time, you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Bernard was a great friend and person. We cherish many memories that were made with Bernard coaching an Exxon Plastics Plant softball team for many years. Rest In Peace, Bernard.

Our superman traded his cape, for golden wings that he kept hidden under that cape.  I am so glad I got to visit with you just days before you were called home.  Feeding you your roast and gravy and signing this little light of mine, you light will forever shine bright in our lives.  Thank you for all the love you have shown our family over the years .
