Barry Joseph “Poopsie” Landry 57 years old, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went home to our Lord January 1, 2021. He was born in Marrero, LA to Joyce LaGrande Landry and Harold Paul Landry Sr. on August 25, 1963. He is survived by his loving wife of over 21 years Stephanie Reichert Landry. One daughter Madeleine Camille Landry and her Partner Kyler Nicotre. One step son Cody Aaron Jackson and one step daughter Heather Noel Riechert. Three grandchildren Sophia Murphy, Wesson Jackson, and Emmalynn Jackson. Three sisters Beth Boudreau and her husband Mike, Laurie Albarado and Cheryl Landry and her partner AL. Four brothers Harold Landry and his wife Joanne, Larry Landry and his wife Kelly, Keith Landry and his wife Heidi, and David Landry and his wife Ann. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, his father, a brother Ralph “Buck” Landry and a sister Linda O’Rourke. Poopsie spent his summers, holidays, etc. in White Castle/Sam’s Town. He and Stephanie built their family in Walker, LA. When Poopsie wasn’t at work for Veolia Water or with his family spoiling the grandbabies he was at his hunting camp doing what he loved. Hunting, cooking and being with his people. Poopsie will be laid to rest at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA on Thursday, January 7, 2021. Visitation will be from 12:00 until the rosary at 2:00 with services following the rosary. Pallbearers are Wendell “Hilo” Albarado, Larry Landry, David Landry, Harold Landry, Keith Landry, Rhett Frioux, Randy Carbo and Curtis Carbo. Honorary Pallbearers are Kyler Nicotre, Scott Harbin, Ethan Harbin, Andrew Harbin, and Kerry LaCompte. Stephanie would like to take this opportunity to thank the emergency response personnel, trauma team, doctors, nurses and chaplain at Our Lady of the Lake for their impeccable service and care.
