Barbara Geraldine “Gerry” Bower, age 88, resident of Baton Rouge, was born in Chase, Louisiana. She passed away peacefully at home with loved ones on Sunday, June 20, 2021. Gerry lived a life exemplary of The Beatitudes and she taught the fruits of the Holy Spirit without having to speak a word. She fought the good fight and has surely won the race. She won the hearts of all who met her and she loved people. She loved travel, quilting, sewing and all needlework. She was a graduate of Louisiana School for the Deaf. She loved The Lord God and was a devout Christian. She worked for 20 years at The American Bank and retired from the State of Louisiana. Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Bower, mother, Sophia E. Chevallier, father, Thomas B. Chavallier, Sr. and siblings; Mary, Altha, Ben Jr., Ada and Sue. She is survived by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and dear friends, pets: loyal dog Fletch and cat, Jackie. She will always be remembered and never forgotten our dear, sweet “Aunt Gerry.” Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 5 - 9 pm with the funeral service taking place at 7 pm. Services will be conducted by Pastor Mike Ferguson, Sr. of Lanier Baptist Church. She will be interred privately at Roselawn Memorial Park.
