Roger Dale Adams

Roger Dale Adams, 78, of Bassett, Va. passed away Friday, June 16, 2023. He was born April 3, 1945 in Henry County to James Lester Adams and Annie Ellen Martin Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lenwood Adams and Troy Adams; sisters-in-law, Bobbie and Bea Adams.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Lee J. Adams; daughter, Angelia Adams Wright (Tony); son, Dwayne Adams (Michele); grandchildren, Austin Dwayne Adams, Holden Anderson Adams, Abigail Nicole Wright and Austin Nash Wright; brothers, David and Lonnie Adams; sisters-in-law, Peggy Merriman and Carol Adams; and many nieces and nephews.

Roger was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He served in the Coast Guard and was a longtime employee of Fieldcrest Mills and retired from L & M Properties. He was an excellent wood worker and loved making furniture and cabinets.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Hillcrest Baptist Church and will be officiated by Pastors Randy Aldridge, Doug Ramsey and Francis Martin. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hillcrest Baptist Church Renovation Fund or the Hillcrest Youth and Children’s Ministry, 18075 A.L. Philpott Highway, Ridgeway, VA. 24148.
