Harry Glenn Woods

Harry Glen Woods, 84 of Bassett, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018 in Martinsville. He was born in Lawsonville, NC, December 8, 1933 to Harry G. Woods and Gracie Bullins Woods. Mr. Woods retired from Bassett Industries (Table Plant) and was a member of First Baptist Church of Bassett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Statzer Woods; a brother, Tom Woods; sisters, Nancy Woods Hooker and Betty Woods Overby; and a stepson, Ronnie Statzer. Surviving are two daughters, Joan Barbour and Janice Hill , a stepdaughter, Bonnie Bass; sisters, Barbara Hylton; ( Harold ) and Brenda Goad;( Charles ) four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, October 8 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett and other times at the home of Mr. Woods. The funeral service will be held, Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist church of Bassett with Pastor Lew Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
