Born in Martinsville, May 8, 1953, he was a son of the late Percy Craig and Natalie Phillips Craig. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Donna Marie Craig.
Bill had worked at DuPont, currently Invista for 30 years and was VP of the worker’s union for many years. He was a life member of the Fieldale-Collinsville Rescue Squad, former member of the Fieldale Volunteer Fire Department, and he was a member of Stanleytown United Methodist Church. Bill was a wonderful Dad, loved woodworking and fixing things, was a former member of the Fieldale-Collinsville High School Band pit crew, and enjoyed motorcycle riding.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Ferguson Craig, his son, Christopher Robert Craig of Roanoke, his brother, Allen Craig and wife Sharon of Lawrenceville, GA, his niece, Nicole Ferguson of Stoneville, NC, and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Darlene and Steve Isom of Bassett.
The funeral service will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday, June 11, 2013, in Stanleytown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Cleveland officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville. The family will receive friends Monday, 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. at Collins Funeral Home, Bassett, and at other times at his home.
