She was born March 21, 1949 in Peoria to Bernard and Winifred (Whiteside) Sullivan. They proceeded her in death along with one nephew, Daniel B. Sullivan, Jr.
Kathy is survived by her husband, John, children: Kellie (Brian) Barth, Nicole (Eric) Quiram, grandchildren: Rylee (Caleb) Haywood, Brady Barth, Landrie Quiram, Channing Quiram, and Hayes Quiram. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren: Weston & Baby Boy Haywood, siblings: Mary Ann (Rick) Blevins, Tom (Cathy) Sullivan, Dan (Shery) Sullivan, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Academy of our Lady, Kathy went on to work many years in the Telecommunications Industry for Illinois Bell, AT&T, Lucent Technologies, and Avaya.
Despite her lengthy career, Kathy would count her role of grandmother as her greatest accomplishment. “Grandma Kathy” spent most of her time at various grandkid’s activities except for March 17th, St Patrick’s Day was reserved for her. On this day grandma Kathy reverted to her days of “Sully” and celebrated her Irish heritage she was so proud of.
Grandma Kathy was a ruthless UNO player, enjoyed watching Survivor, and loved an ice-cold Pepsi. Her legendary stubborn streak never more evident than her ongoing gut-wrenching loyalty to the Chicago Bears.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Kathy’s life will be Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Bartonville American Legion Post 979. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
