He was born to the late Henry and Valeska Faircloth on November 30, 1947 in Nashville, TN. He graduated from Treadwell High School. There, he was a very proud member of the R.O.T.C. He received his Bachelor’s degree from University of Memphis. He loved to go to University of Memphis Basketball games with his sister Gale. He and his best friends, Carl Jefferson Castelaw and Chip Bramlett the Three Amigos were a part of the “Summer Avenue Gang”. They were friends for 65 years.
His loving wife, Dana Faircloth; his sister, Gale Brown (Philip); his step-grandson, Austin Elrod; nephew, Greg Brown (Amanda); niece, Hope Shelton (Jason); great-nieces and nephews, Makenzie, Maddox, Birdie, Roscoe, Porter; and his two furbabies, Roman and Little Sissy, survive Richard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Providence Reformed Presbyterian Church, 5444 Stage Road, Memphis, TN 38134 in Richard’s honor.
A memorial service will be at 1:00pm on Thursday, 1:00pm at Providence Reformed Presbyterian Church, 5444 Stage Road, Memphis, TN 38134.
