April 27, 1942 — July 21, 2023
Patricia King was born April 27, 1942 in Macon, TN to the late Walter Wickliff and Laura Savannah (Trimm) Sain, the 8th of nine children, the youngest daughter.
On December 3rd, 1977 Patricia married Robert L. King and began their lives together. Over the next years, Patricia worked at Wagner Electric Company in Memphis, John Deere Company in South Latham, the Secretary for White Station Church of Christ, and finally retired from the International Paper Company.
Pat and Robert’s love story began when Robert and his cousin decided to visit Snowden Circle Church of Christ. Robert met Pat and began their courtship for 15 years. Pat, being shy, was nervous about change and it took three attempts to finally say “I do”. Robert stated that “I chased her until she caught me.” After their wedding, the two spent their honeymoon in Acapulco, Mexico, and celebrated their 10th anniversary in Hawaii. Robert states that after they were married, Pat was the only “Sain” King in the family.
Pat and Robert loved spending time together and traveled to many places. One of Pat’s favorite places to visit was the beach. Pat loved soaking up the sun, walking with Robert, and shopping. Pat loved getting together with family, especially during Fourth of July and Thanksgiving family reunions, cooking wonderful meals, and even better desserts.
Beyond her favorite past-times, Pat was very active in her church family. During the last years when Pat’s memory was fading, she would often say that she was at church, visiting her church family. God was the center of Patricia’s life and marriage and they have left a legacy of love for many people to follow. The family would like to say a special thank you to the Woodland Hills Church of Christ for showing so much love to Pat and Robert. You are loved more than you know.
Although Pat and Robert were not able to have kids of their own, they poured into the lives of their extended family and friends. Pat and Robert were known to give freely and generously of their time and money.
Pat was the last girl of the original nine Sain children. Pat is survived by her husband, Robert King, 46 years, Susan (Thomas) Sain, sister-in-law, Betty Sain and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Richard L. Sain, Earl W. (Glyn) Sain, Jewel E. (Olga) Sain, James B. (Ruth) Sain, J.W. Sain, sisters Ruby L. (Jack) Newberry, Valeria M. (Karl) Sprout, Dorothy M. (Joe) Childs, and one nephew, Ronald W.Sain.
