Sue was born April 1,1940 in Corinth, MS to Grover Cleveland and LaVerne Pever. She is the older sister of Hope Abeyta, Patricia Garrison, John Pever and Jim Pever. Sue graduated college from Middle Tennessee State University, moved to Memphis and met and married the love of her life, Sam Sanders.
In addition to spending time with her family she worked for over 30 years as a teacher. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, and loved a good mystery or self-help book.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband Samuel, her daughters Stacy (Jim) and Stephanie and her son David (Amanda). Along with her seven grandchildren Will, Samantha, Courtney, Emma, Samuel, Sara and Jordan.
Mary’s (Sue) services will be held Monday October 30, 2023, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. Visitation will begin at 1pm, a memorial service at 2pm, graveside service at 3pm. A reception will follow. All celebrations will be held at the funeral home.
