Carolyn is survived by her three children Debbie Pickett of The Colony, TX, Chris Stokes of Rock Mount, MO, and Karen Paige of Cherokee Village, AR, three grandchildren Heather Paige, Kristina Stephens, and Rachel Halbrook, and one greatgranddaughter Jordan Stephens.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert F. Bonomi, parents, Grace and Edwin Sykes, and her siblings Jeanie Cathey and Eddie Sykes.
Carolyn was born on November 14th, 1939 to parents Grace and Edwin Sykes. She graduated from Tusculum College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Carolyn traveled the world with her first husband as a military wife, while raising her three children. Later she married Bob Bonomi and completed her B.S. in nursing. Over the years she worked as a floor nurse at Baptist Memorial Hospital, and as a claims nurse at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of TN.
After her retiring and her husband Bob's passing, Carolyn moved to Kirby Pines Retirement Community. There she enjoyed retirement, as she went from independent living, to assisted living, to nursing home care. Carolyn took great joy in sharing her love of color by painting art and beading beautiful necklaces. While strong in mind and weak in body, mom lived her final years making necklaces for each new lady coming to the manor, as well as teaching bible lessons each Saturday and Sunday, as her body would allow. She will be remembered for her loving and caring heart.
A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday June 11th, 2019 at 2:00pm with visitation at 1:00pm. Pastor Don Johnson will officiate the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carolyn's life. The family would like to thank Baptist Trinity Hospice for helping Carolyn on her journey from hospice to heaven.
