Raymond Wayne Overton, 63, of Barstow, California, passed away on Saturday, October 7th 2017, at Barstow Hospital. Born in Morro Bay, California, he lived most of his life as a Barstow resident. He graduated from Excelsior College in 2003 with a Bachelors of Science.
Raymond was proud of his service in the Army, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant and serving our country for 24 years. He achieved many accolades and awards including the Bronze Star. After military retirement, he worked for many years as a civilian contractor providing support to the Army at Fort Irwin, California.
He is survived by his wife, Chong, of Barstow California, his daughter Katherine Nunes of Marysville, Washington, his mother, Phyllis Overton of Lake City, Iowa, his sister Kerrie Hull of Rockwell City, Iowa, his aunt, Shirley Quick of Springdale, Arkansas, as well as his loving nieces, nephews and other great friends.
