Celebrating the Life of Adeline Lujan Gallegos
Adeline "Ade" Lujan Gallegos (Batol), 65, of Barstow, California, passed
away on December 3, 2023, with her loving family by her side. She was
born on May 1, 1958, in Honolulu, HI, to Ana Lujan Batol and Filomeno
Abrigana Batol.
Adeline is survived by her children: Monique Hodge and her husband,
Jason, Sarah Tafoya and her husband, Jonathan, and Aurelia Gallegos;
grandchildren: Rebecca Gallegos-Hodge, David Hodge and fiancé
Laylani Benavidez, Hannah Lazaro and her husband, Chillin Lazaro,
Ezekiel, Delilah, Jonathan Jr., and Layla Tafoya; great-grandchildren:
Leia Gallegos-Hodge, and Kalani and Ashton Lazaro. She is preceded in
death by her beloved husband, Paul G. Gallegos, mother, Ana Lujan
Batol, father, Filomeno Abrigana Batol, and sister, Emi Silva.
Adeline enjoyed spending time with her family and best friend, Julia
Saiz, being outdoors, camping, fishing, listening to music, reading,
watching anything mysterious, and laughing and playing with her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Adeline worked many rewarding jobs in her life, lastly, serving the
students of Barstow Unified School District beginning in August of 2000,
at Cameron Elementary. She was extremely dedicated to serving the
students and making sure each one was properly fed and greeted with a
smiling, caring face. She found it extremely rewarding and made it her
mission! She was a dedicated member of Mt. St. Joseph's Catholic
Church in Barstow, CA, where she found solace. Adeline was truly a
Ruth type of woman, emulating timeless traits that ultimately produced a
lasting harvest, impacting both earth and eternity. Adeline was humble,
diligent, had a spirit of perseverance, gratitude, and contentment, she
was a true example of what resilience, teachability, and dependability is.
Her hope was always in the Lord and she truly was a faithful servant.
A rosary will begin from 10:00 am to 10:30. Following that a eulogy will take place from 10:30 am to 11:00 am. Catholic mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. St.
Joseph's Catholic Church in Barstow, CA, followed by a graveside
service at Mt. View Memorial Park. Please join us for a celebratory meal
and sharing of memories at Mt. St. Joseph's Catholic Church Noonan
Hall following the graveside. Mead Mortuary in Barstow, CA, is assisting
with the arrangements.
